Obtaining consent
Prior to any procedure being performed, the radiologist will explain the procedure to the patient, answer any questions they have and confirm informed consent has been given.
To ensure we make the most of the limited booking slots available, we require that referring teams obtain written consent and for this document to be delivered to the PAC ofice prior to an inpatient procedure being booked.
This reduces the chance of a procedure being booked for a patient who does not consent to the treatment being performed, and valuable booking slots being wasted.
